The WonderFest "Amazing"
Model Contest is focused on all types of science-fiction, horror and comics
models. It's the biggest contest of its type in America, and it's
fun to look at even if you don't build models yourself! It's truly
amazing to see more than 500 of the best imaginative subject models you'll
find anywhere. Participating is even better!
New for 2010:
Category splits, plus new a category!
Due to the growth of the contest, we're breaking all of our dual categories (such as Dinos & Kaiju) into two separate ones. This does not change judging, it simply spreads entries out on the contest tables a bit better.
Also, we're trying out a new category to see how it works. Original Sculpt/Scratchbuilt will include anything created totally from scratch, from any category, all in one place. As with the category splits, this will not alter judging. We'll continue with the "open system" that judges each model on its own merits, no matter what the category.

That's right: We want to blow the doors off
the contest again this year and we've got the room to do it! Fans have
been asking to be able to enter more models without spending a fortune and
it made sense. So show us your best!
The contest is sponsored by Amazing Figure Modeler
magazine, which is providing a special $300 award for the Most Amazing Figure.
Entry
Hours:
Saturday, May 15th,
from 8 a.m. 'til Noon
Entry Fees:
$5.50 per first 2 models for adults, up to 8 additional entries free
$3.50 per first 2 models for teens, up to 8 add'l entries free (ages 13-19)
Free for ages 12 & under
NOTE:
$5 additional charge for oversize entries; see rule #3 for size limits.
Entry forms will be sold on Friday night and Saturday morning at the conference center, and the entry period
is from 8 a.m. 'til noon on Saturday to allow everyone more time to
enjoy the contest entries during the weekend.
The AWARDS PRESENTATION
will be on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30.
Judging is still based on the
"Open" System. Awards will be: Certificate of Merit,
Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards.
There are a number of special sponsored awards from some great sponsoring companies that will be
presented.
