Mention the name Greg Jein to anyone who has an interest in movie and TV modelmaking, and they gush with recognition. It’s because Greg was not only a master craftsperson, who worked on everything from DARK STAR to CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND to STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE and beyond. But it’s also because Greg was not your typical Hollywood type. He was quiet, unassuming, funny and kind. He mentored countless modelmakers into the business.
Greg was also kind to WonderFest, on occasion sending pieces of studio model castings to our charity auction.
John Eaves will be gathering a group of folks who knew and worked with Greg, such as Bill George, Tony Hardy, and others. Join them in this remembrance of a great modeler and human being.
