Badger and Black Heart have sponsored or hosted nearly 20 modeling classes at horror and model kit conventions around the country over the last few years. This year, 2015, in addition to airbrushing and traditional model finishing, we are going to introduce participants to a painting medium that might be unfamiliar to many Garage Kit artists.
Headlining the class will be artist/designer/painter/sculptor Casey Love and Black Heart’s owner, George Stephenson, nearly 50 years of model design, production and finishing between them. Casey will be instructing and demonstrating flesh tones and other freaky effects. We’ll also be introducing participants to finishing and highlighting with metallic paint wax. We guarantee this will be like no other model finishing class you’ve ever taken. And you’ll have enough paint wax to last for years (the stuff keeps forever and a little goes a long way).
Due to an unforeseen problem finish the originally-planned Giger Tribute bust, Black Heart has substituted a new 1:3 scale bust that is the first in their new line of subjects in that scale. The painting subject is called Caracolillo (pronounced Kara KoLEEya). She was sculpted and licensed by Abner Marin and was inspired by H.R. Giger, one of Abner’s idols. The finishing options are endless.
Badger’s Velocity Airbrush with over-sized paint cup; Badger paint; a Badger compressor; Giger bust; two paint wax sets with assorted metallic colors; and 5 hours of instruction from headliners (and knowledgeable assistants, Mike “The Modeler” Reagan and Badger Air-Brush Co. owner, Ken Schlotfeldt).
Everything in Option A listed above except the compressor.
Space in this class will be limited to 16 people. Paypal accepted at
